Dr. Suman Misra is the Chief Quality, Research & Development Officer at Varuna Group, overseeing the company’s quality assurance programmes, research initiatives, and product development processes. With over 27 years of experience in biotechnology and enzyme manufacturing, Dr. Suman, a founding member of the enzymes unit, is a leader in driving innovation and maintaining the highest standards of quality across all product lines. In her role, Dr. Suman leads the R&D team in developing cutting-edge enzyme solutions that meet the evolving needs of the industry. She ensures that all products not only comply with regulatory requirements but also exceed customer expectations for performance and reliability. Dr. Suman also spearheaded the creation and successful management of the DSIR-approved lab, cementing Varuna's reputation for quality. Prior to joining Varuna, Dr. Suman completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine in Hamburg, Germany, where she played a key role in advancing molecular biology techniques.Dr. Suman holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Banaras Hindu University, supported by a CSIR JRF-SRF NET Fellowship, and is a recognised leader in enzyme technology. She has published extensively in reputable scientific journals and is a regular speaker at industry conferences. Outside her professional endeavours, Dr. Suman is dedicated to mentoring young scientists and promoting sustainable practices in biotechnology.
